One Ingredient Ice Cream

Ice cream

Are the main things that as humans we need for basic function as far as I’m concerned.

I always try and incorporate a bit of ice cream now and then into my diet, just like I always incorporate my clients’ favourite foods into their diets.

While this might not make sense to some, having favourite foods present in a diet is a big predictor of adherence. Remember, if you can’t stick to a diet, it ain’t gonna work.

Whilst I’ll try and fit my favourite ice cream (Ben & Jerry’s Peanut Butter Cup, if you’re asking) into my diet, sometimes I just can’t get a decent portion of it to fit my macros.

That’s where this comes in:

One Ingredient Ice Cream (makes 1 portion)

Nutella on the left, chocolate mint on the right

Ingredients

One small banana, peeled, sliced, put in a freezer bag & frozen solid.

Method

  1. Put in a food processor or blender and whizz until smooth. Expect it to aerate and puff up a bit.

That’s it!

Now that’s the base and is actually pretty tasty on it’s own, but I’m sure you’ll want to try some flavours too! Let’s take a look at some options:

Base + 1 tsp nutella
Base + 10g dark chocolate + 1/4 tsp peppermint essence
Base + 1 tsp peanut butter
Base + 10g dark chocolate + 1/4 tsp orange essence

These should be enough to get you going. Get creative and give a few different ones a go. You likely can’t go wrong!
